Skillful recruits regulatory reporting, model risk and governance professionals across UK banks, building societies, specialist lenders and credit firms. COREP, FINREP, stress testing and model governance, scarce skills with very little margin for error in hiring.
Regulatory reporting and governance is a small, well-networked market where the right person is usually not actively looking. The skills are scarce, people who genuinely understand COREP, FINREP, stress testing and model risk governance in a UK regulated entity are a finite pool, and most are employed. Headhunting and search are the only ways to reach them, which is how we work.
We are candid with clients about what the market pays and honest with candidates about what a role really involves day to day. In a market this small, reputational integrity matters more than anywhere.
COREP and FINREP are the cornerstones of prudential regulatory reporting under the CRR and CRD framework. We place regulatory reporting analysts, managers and heads of regulatory reporting at banks, building societies and specialist lenders who need people who understand the templates, the source data and the FCA/PRA submission process. These roles are niche and the talent pool is genuinely shallow, we work as a headhunter, not a job board.
Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) and Bank of England stress testing require a different combination of quantitative modelling, credit risk understanding and regulatory reporting expertise. We place stress testing specialists and managers at firms running their own internal programmes as well as those participating in BoE-led exercises.
Model risk management has grown significantly in importance since SR 11-7 and the PRA's corresponding model risk expectations. We place model risk managers, model validators and heads of model risk who can balance the technical rigour of model review with the governance and reporting requirements that regulators now expect. These roles sit at the intersection of quantitative finance, risk management and policy, a rare combination.
Capital adequacy professionals, working on RWA calculation, advanced IRB models, leverage ratio and capital planning, are among the most sought-after specialists in financial services. We place Basel specialists and capital management professionals at firms implementing or maintaining advanced approaches, primarily under the CRR/Basel III framework.
Our clients on the regulatory reporting and governance side include UK retail banks, building societies, specialist lenders and credit firms that have PRA or FCA regulatory reporting obligations. We also work with consultancies that are staffing regulatory reporting project teams. On the candidate side, we work with people at all levels from analyst through to director, and most of the senior people we place are not applying to job adverts when we find them.
Regulatory reporting roles are predominantly permanent, these are functions that require institutional knowledge and continuity. Contract placements do occur, typically for regulatory reporting remediation projects, system implementations or interim cover during team restructuring. We place both, and we use the same search approach regardless of tenure.
